Katie Holmes Gets Front Page Apology from Star
As part of a settlement regarding a $50 million defamation lawsuit against them, Star magazine has issued a front page apology to Katie Holmes.
The massive mea culpa is delivered in this week”s issue and comes after the tabloid falsely suggested the “The Kennedys star was addicted to drugs.
Having just reached an undisclosed monetary settlement, the publication has also been forced to give a rare formal apology to Miss Holmes.
The mag”s statement reads, “In a recent issue of Star, we published headlines about Katie Holmes that could be read to suggest that she was addicted to drugs. Star did not intend to suggest that Ms. Holmes was a drug addict or was undergoing treatment for a drug addiction. Star apologizes to Ms. Holmes for any misperception and will be making a substantial donation to charity on Ms. Holmes behalf for any harm that we may have caused.
